Yifan Yuan

I am a first-year doctoral student in the Clinical Psychology program at Rutgers University. My research focuses on the socio-emotional processes that contribute to depression in adolescents and emerging adults. Specifically, I am interested in understanding the interplay between intrapersonal and interpersonal emotion regulation mechanisms, and how these regulatory processes shape mental health outcomes. To address these questions, I use a multimodal approach combining fMRI and Ecological Momentary Assessment (EMA). Outside of research, I enjoy rock climbing, playing music, and trying good food.
